Lesson plan

1. Warm-up

   Students answer five personal questions about their best friend and about mistakes they or their friends have made.

2. Discussion

   Students look at six pictures of children making mistakes and guess what happened and how each person feels.

3. Video: Everybody Makes Mistakes

   Students watch a 4:30 song video, listening carefully and paying attention to the target words.

4. Vocabulary

   Students match nine target words (mistake, lie, practice, kindness, apologize, mix up, repair, overwhelmed, ashamed) to their meanings.

5. Listening: Song Gap Fill

   Students listen to the song again and fill in the missing words on the lyrics worksheet.

6. Phrases

   Students sort a list of phrases into Kind and Mean categories.

7. Reading

   Students choose roles and read aloud two short dialogues about apologising and supporting a friend after a mistake.

8. Role-Play

   In pairs, students act out short scenes where one person makes a mistake and the other responds as a kind friend.

9. Riddle

   Students guess a riddle describing friendship.

10. Writing

    Students use each letter of FRIENDSHIP to write a word or phrase about being a good friend.
