Lesson plan

1. Lead-in Discussion

  • Ask students introductory questions about AI.

  • Brainstorm words and ideas related to AI on the board.

  • Show pictures of common AI tools or devices.

2. Vocabulary Introduction

  • Present and practise key words: artificial intelligence, data, software, hardware, generate, programme, human-like, smart devices, technology.

  • Use matching, example sentences, and short oral practice.

3. Video: What Is AI?

  • Watch the short video twice.

  • Discuss questions from the video with students.

4. Reading

  • Students read the text about The Future of AI.

  • Identify examples of AI in daily life.

  • Discuss narrow AI vs general AI.

6. Speaking Practice

  • Use speaking cards to discuss opinions about AI.

  • Practise expressing advantages and disadvantages.

  • Share ideas with the class.

7. Spot the AI

  • Look at pairs of pictures and decide which are real and which are AI-generated.

  • Discuss what clues helped them decide.

8. Writing Task

  • Write short predictions about AI using the prompts.

  • Review new vocabulary.

  • Ask students to share what they learned.

  • Share or display students’ writing.
